Plot

A prequel to the original Dune, it tells the story of how the Rossak Brotherhood evolved into the Bene Gesserit. The incident in which Valya Harkonnen used the voice comes from one called the Mentats of Dune. The three books tie together the evolution of the Brotherhood, the Mentats, the Navigators, and the Suk doctors.

It lacks depth, some of the conversations are quite cheesy

I knew it wouldn’t be the same quality as the movies, but I didn’t expect it to be so… mediocre. For a second I thought it was an Amazon production, not HBO.

Also, some scenes make me wonder why they bothered making them

Some of the roles were not played by the right actors; not because the actors are bad, but because they are not suited to the role. There is too much going on in the first episode and they jump from one scene to the next like they are rushed. There are no real special effects, the budget seems a bit low.

I really hope it gets better

I’m not sure what camera they used, but the shots look too simple.
