Inspired by a true story and directed by Magnus von Horne, The Girl with the Needles follows Caroline (Vick Carmen Sohn), a young factory worker struggling to survive in World War I Copenhagen. When she finds herself unemployed, abandoned, and pregnant, she meets Dagmar (Trine Dyrholm), a charismatic woman who runs an underground adoption agency that helps mothers find foster parents for their unwanted children. With nowhere else to turn, Caroline takes on the role of wet nurse.
